Hofstetten on the move

Today Hofstetten was very active! Various challenges had to be addressed ranging from demonstrating dexterity

over a downhill skating exercise

a go-cart ride

to a photo quiz in the village.

It's clear anyway that drinks and food were important on this day as well.

All in all a great event took place today - thanks go to all who have contributed to the success

Balance for five years

Yesterday the dancing studio balance in Elgg was celebrating five swinging years. The children took the chance to show all they have learnt.

The school in Hofstetten celebrated spring with a great theater play.

Carnival in Hagenbuch

Today was carnival in Hagenbuch. The children were impressed by the giant rat.

And the children took the opportunity to express that they like the idea of more collaboration between Hagenbuch, Dickbuch and Hofstetten.

Aeschlibrigade

The Aeschlibrigade gave its best today in wind and snow.

The event of the day was aside of exercises the firing of the canoon.

Smiling Elephant near Huggenberg

Not far away from Huggenberg in Bichelsee is the restaurant called the smiling elephant. Today we gave it a try and we were suprised by the excellent asian and swiss meals. Highly recommended! Below is a picture of the dessert I had.

Rock Crystal in Huggenberg

Friday evening the school in Hofstetten performed the "Rock Crystal" following a story from Adalbert Stifter written 1845 and adapted for the performance by Mr. Brandenberger. Really cool how the children performed all together!

Burning car

Today there was a buring car on the street near Huggenberg.

The picture shows the situation just before the fire brigade did arrive. I hope nobdy way injured.

Hiking trail

Many of the hiking trails have been renovated and are now very nice. Here is the rail from Seelmatten up to the Hochegg.

The countryside around Seelmatten is actually very nice with the Bichelsee in the back.

Fairytale Forrest

Near Girenbad there is a small forest with a villa for children

a number of mushrooms

and a big dwarf

and a lot of other funny things including a nice fireplace where the sausages bought in the small Fuster shop in Girenbad can be cooked.

Irresponsible and childish parents

Initially I thought that some children had no better ideas than to burn firework in the night of August 3th. As it was raining on August 1st they could not go out and burn their fireworks at the usual national birthday time. On August 1st it is possible for people with animals to prepare or to o away to a quite place. This time it turned out to be very dangerous as my wife was just on the way with her horses which panicked. It was very sad to see that it were not the children but their irresponsible parents which organized the event. They didn't even stop after four people had complained and explained them how dangerous their behavior can be.
